A new freely adjustable stand and a new USB-C port
The new, stable stand on the back of the Nintendo Switch 2 is fully adjustable, letting you find the perfect viewing angle for tabletop play. Unlike the original model, which featured a single USB-C port on the bottom, Nintendo Switch 2 includes an additional USB-C port on the top. This allows you to charge the console with the included AC adapter while playing in tabletop mode. You can also connect a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately), such as the Nintendo Switch 2 camera, to enjoy face-to-face video chats using GameChat.

In addition to new Nintendo Switch 2 titles, the console also supports compatible physical and digital games from the original Nintendo Switch. Please note that some titles may not be supported or fully compatible. Existing Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers and accessories—like the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (sold separately)—can also be connected wirelessly and used with Nintendo Switch 2.

Multiple people can play one title with GameShare
GameShare is a new feature on Nintendo Switch 2 that lets players share and play the same game with others—even if they don’t own it. If one player has a GameShare-compatible title on their Nintendo Switch 2, they can invite others to join in via local play using their own Nintendo Switch 2 or original Nintendo Switch console. When playing between two Nintendo Switch 2 systems, GameShare also works with GameChat, allowing players to talk and play together online in real time.
Virtual game cards add benefits to digital games
GameShare is a new feature on Nintendo Switch 2 that lets players share and play the same game with friends—even if they don’t own it. If one player has a GameShare-compatible title on their Nintendo Switch 2, they can invite others to join via local play using either their Nintendo Switch 2 or original Nintendo Switch console. When two Nintendo Switch 2 consoles connect, GameShare integrates with GameChat, enabling real-time voice chat for an even more connected online gaming experience.
Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo Switch Online* will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, including features like GameChat. All owners can use GameChat free until March 31, 2026; after that, a membership is required.
At launch, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can access enhanced Nintendo GameCube Classics with improved graphics on Nintendo Switch 2.
Variety of accessibility features
In addition to existing accessibility features on Nintendo Switch, to support players’ wide range of gameplay styles, Nintendo Switch 2 offers a variety of new accessibility options including the ability to adjust font size, enable screen reader, and speech-to-text features within GameChat.
Safe and secure game experience on Nintendo Switch 2
With the Nintendo Switch Parental Control app, parents can easily monitor their children’s gameplay, view what games they’re playing, and set daily playtime limits using their smart device. For GameChat, children under 16 must receive approval from a parent or guardian through the app before starting a chat, allowing parents to securely manage their child’s chat experience.
